[See

motorsports entertainment campus is the centerpiece
of TransPort and is branded the "COLORADO MOTORPLEX."
It is comprised of multiple racing venues,
consisting of 1,100 acres. Design criteria is
focused upon attracting the most popular motor
racing sports such as stock cars, open wheel cars,
sports cars, motorcycles, dragsters, and karting.
In particular, the project features a 1-mile
D-oval with an integrated mini-oval "Bull Ring"
equipped with lighting for weekly night racing
events and street car drag racing on the front
stretch. The Motorplex also includes a
2.6-mile road course featuring three configurations
designed to FIA grade 2 standards. Serving as
a campus youth development center, a full-scale
karting facility featuring a 1.9 mile FIA level
circuit and 3/8 mile indoor track is planned as a
general public go karting attraction. And,
finally, in anticipation of future growth, a major
parcel has been reserved for an NHRA level drag
strip and facility.

The vision for the COLORADO MOTORPLEX is to
create a major league race venue that is
distinctly Colorado in image, but one that
establishes a new standard in venue design
focused entirely on customer comfort, care, and
event experience. The dual level, oval
grandstand design was selected to provide a more
intimate race experience for the fan because it
allows for closer fan proximity to the on-track
action and a wider array of ticket purchase
options. The grand stand complex is
purposely scaled to the smaller end of current
U.S. race venues providing 40,000 individual,
22" sized seats for maximum fan comfort.
The structure has been pre-designed to
accommodate expansion of up to 90,000 in seating
capacity. The dual level presents
panoramic view corporate VIP Suites at the top
of the facility and introduces a new and unique
Club Suite level located between the upper and
lower grandstand sections. Seating
throughout the other campus circuits will
incorporate both permanent and temporary
strategies including hillside, terraced seating
with sight-lines given top priority.
-
With uniqueness and design innovation
front-of-mind, a team of highly experienced and
imaginative racing experts has been assembled
for the project
representing 195
years of combined experience covering every
major facet of the motorsport venue.
Each professional chosen is known for their
knowledge and command of their specific area of
race venue design and operation. The
development of the COLORADO MOTORPLEX will
substantially increase the value of the
surrounding property.
The design team has applied a disciplined focus
on the following strategic design goals:
* Establish a new and unique, 21st Century
racing industry venue standard.
* Produce a distinctly Colorado design, look,
and feel.
* Incorporate fan and user comfort and overall
experience enhancements within all
venture facets.
* Produce an integrated design that promotes
B2B synergies between the Motorplex
components and future businesses planned for the
larger TransPort development.
* Incorporate green strategies throughout the
Motorplex and TransPort development.
* Attract fans and participants of all auto
racing disciplines, ages and demographic
backgrounds to better fulfill the demands of the
21st Century racing fan.
-
The marquee centerpiece component will attract not
only race fans and sports enthusiasts but also
synergistic businesses to co-locate at TransPort.
The location is
feasible due to its outstanding physical attributes:
1) proximity to a major metropolitan area, highways,
and airports; 2) no potential residential
encroachment; 3) ample land; 4) excellent
visibility; 5) excellent access to the U.S.
Interstate Highway system and other sources of
access/egress; and 6) through-the-fence rights with
Front Range Airport allowing unique access for
teams, sponsors, drivers, and fans.
